knoxious

Dear Microsoft, I am fed up with having to take your non-compliant shit! I hearby announce Internet Explorer shall not be supported by me... EVER.

My advice to readers is ditch the massive resource guzzling, insecure, standards non-compliant pile of crap and use something safer, faster and better! See my list.

Installing No to IE

Please pick below the level of 'annoyance' you want to inflict on Internet Explorer users. It is worth remembering that they will be your site's visitors so choose wisely.

Informative

(Recommended)

The idea behind this bar is to inform the user on entering your website that Internet Explorer is potentially unsafe, and then gives them the option to hide it, without it popping up again for another 24 hours. Yes, still annoying, but it gets the point accross.

To use this, put this code just AFTER the <body> tag in your page, but before content.

<script type="text/javascript" src="http://knoxious.co.uk/no-ie/no.ie.js"></script>

Annoying

(Demonstrated here)

With this bar, we want to constantly remind, and hinder the user to try and get them to switch browsers so every page will load with this bar, however it can be hidden in case it obscures content.

To use this, put this code just AFTER the <body> tag in your page, but before content.

<script type="text/javascript" src="http://knoxious.co.uk/no-ie/persistent-no.ie.js"></script>

This page is the Demo! Refresh to see it in action!

Restrictive

(Very Powerful and Very Dangerous)

Think carefully about using this because it will take the user to an error page here. This code states that YOU WILL NOT SERVE INTERNET EXPLORER USERS. And whilst it will get some people to try use something other than Internet Explorer, it could very well put people off visiting your site so be warned!!!

To use this, put this code in the <head> section of your page!!

<script type="text/javascript" src="http://knoxious.co.uk/no-ie/deny-no.ie.js"></script>

A demo can be seen here: Demo Page
